BitterBlue is an international film production collective. The company itself is based in Edinburgh, Scotland and was founded by filmmaker Cristina Ertze and writer Robin McAlpine in March 2007.

Our aim is to emphasize the role of Scotland as an independent film hub by supporting quality film projects and artists who share an interest in international collaboration and community outreach.

Although we are just starting as a collective, the combined enthusiasm, experience and hard work of our artists and producers have so far allowed us to collaborate in several high quality filmic productions as well as by leading animation and film community workshops. Thanks to the support received from Screen Academy as beneficiaries for their Screen Futures programme, our company is growing steadily as a film production business.
